Helping First Responders Cope During a Difficult Time

How difficult must it be for a man or woman to run toward danger, not away from it? How difficult is it to do this not just once in a while but on a daily basis? The wear and tear on the psyches of our police, fire and EMT specialists surely take a toll. Now multiply that by an order of magnitude when trying to do their jobs during a pandemic that has the government ordering nonessential workers to stay in their houses while this killer disease infiltrates every corner of the globe. Their bravery and lack of concern for themselves are unparalleled as they tend to the sick, knowing full well they could contract the disease because of their proximity to it.

To show our appreciation here at Gifts of Nature Organics we had the opportunity to reflect on how lucky we are and how grateful we are to our first responders. While discussing this in our regular Monday meeting on April 6th we decided we would use our expertise in formulating anti-viral sprays and “give back” to our community. Thus far we have donated over 200 bottles of our 2 oz Cold and Flu Spray to our local police, EMT and fire department. Due to the “hand made” nature of the product this endeavor normally would’ve taken more time than we allowed ourselves. We wanted to get this into their hands as quickly as possible. Every single one of our employees volunteered their time to chip in and make this quick “turnaround” happen. Our hats go off to their selfless determination to meet our goal!

We also decided to add additional essential oils, mainly from the citrus family, to the end product, a completely natural and organic entity, to enhance protection. Citrus essential oils are natural antiviral and anti-bacterial which are plant-based phytonutrients. Just spritz into cupped hands and inhale to coat and protect the mucus membrane.
