Evolution of a Company
One of the unique characteristics of the American economy is the amount of companies classsified as a “small business.” Of the28.7 million companies active today in the USA a whopping 99% of them are small businesses with less than 20 employees each. That’s roughly 28.3 million of the 28.7 are considered small business. No other country in the world can boast numbers like this. It is a credit to the American spirit of entrepreneurship which makes this nation unique in the annals of history.
One of the most significant factors that show the importance of the above mentioned numbers are what small businesses bring to the local community. When someone opens a small business they are engaging in two enormously important activities: they provide both a service as well as jobs to the local community. These two factors are the oil that keeps the engine of our economy humming.
In 1994 Judy Ryan opened the doors for the first time at International Physical Therapy and began offering a unique service to the Howell NJ community. Her earnest and heartfelt approach to her patients’ health and wellness resulted in a “winning formula” which local doctors recognized, resulting in more and more referrals. And logically this approach led to the creation of more jobs for the local community as staff was hired to run the gym, run the office, run marketing, etc.
Once this formula was in place and thriving Judy had the time to focus on the next step in the evolution of the company. Deciding that health and wellness also related to what people put on their bodies she entered a hospital setting and became a licensed aromatherapist, using only the very best in natural and organic creams, sprays and essential oils to formulate a line of close to 100 skin and body care products. Thus, in 2005, Gifts of Nature Organics was founded and became an integral arm of International PT. More than a dozen products have been formulated to fight pain, heal wound scars, treat psoriasis and eczema, relieve the pain of arthritis and even soothe achy feet!

One might think these accomplishments would be enough for one person but in 2015 another door of opportunity opened up and the company expanded, tripling its square footage and ushering in the dawn of a 3rd company, A Healing Touch at IPT, our full service natural and organic salon. Featuring a natural and organic hair salon and vegan based nail polish AHT also offers massages, facials, nutrition classes, reiki sessions and soon to be introduced sound therapy.
